Perspective Pier Drawing & Painting Workshop | Sun 23 Mar 2-5pm | Adult Art Class
Time: 2-5pm
Date: Sun 23rd March 2025
Location: Millworks, 28 Field Road, Busby G76 8SE
Ever painted something and it’s just that little bit ‘off’ but you’re not sure why? It could be either scale or perspective isn’t just right.
In this class we’ll be painting a 1-point perspective image of a pier leading out to a loch. Option for the blue tones or sunset vibes!
We will be using acrylics to paint - the best for layering textures and correcting any wee errors along the way too.
Beginners are welcome as it’s very step-by-step, but also those that have been to a previous class and want to ‘up’ their drawing and painting skills.
All materials are included in the workshop
More info below.
Why this class?
If you’ve already done a bit of drawing and/or painting but need a few extra technical skills or just some hints and tips for getting the scale of your paintings correct, this is for you. Perspective drawings/paintings can be so powerful in storytelling within your art.
If you’re a complete beginner, you’re more than welcome to come along, it’s not as scary as it looks and you’re guaranteed a good finish.
Enjoy an afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)
Venue
The venue is in my new studio in Busby, Glasgow. It’s a 10 minute walk from Busby Train Station and the number 6 bus stops nearby too. There is free parking outside the venue.
Unfortunately the room is on the first floor with no lift access. My sincere apologies if this is a barrier to you attending.
Timings
Class will start promptly at 2pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 5pm.
Materials List
All materials are provided. However, if you’d prefer to use your own so you can learn to work with what you’ve got at home, you’re more than welcome to bring them along. Here’s what we’ll be using:
- Acrylic Paints
- Brushes
- Acrylic Paper / canvas
- Tear off palette
- Masking Tape
- Pot of Water
- Kitchen roll / Towel for drying your brush

If you’d like any advice or suggestions, I’ve put my favourite materials here.
Cancellation policy
Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
