Perfect to learn the basics of figure drawing with a life model.
This class takes us back to basics on how to draw the human figure from life. I’ll show you how to start from scratch and develop your drawings over a 3 hour class with a life model. We start with some short exercises to warm us up and help our observation when drawing.
Following that, we’ll stop for a break (tea/coffee provided) before going on to look at some longer poses.
Suitable for beginners or those new to drawing figures. It will be fully tutored, so you’ll know what to do.
Materials are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own along if you’d prefer to learn how to use what you’ve got in the house. I will provide pencils, charcoal, paper and pens.
Why this class?
Drawing people gets a reputation for being super difficult, but that’s 100% false, promise! I’ll breakdown the best ways to start your drawing with some tips and tricks, and a few exercises to get us warmed up so you can create some lovely drawings within the session!
We’ll have a real model posing for us and the opportunity to move around and draw from different angles, using a variety of materials.
Following some shorter getting-started poses, we’ll have a few longer poses to really nail your proportions, perspective and shading.
It’ll be a chilled afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)
Materials
All materials are provided. However if you’d like to bring along your own, your more than welcome.
We will have pencils, pens, charcoal and paper available and will show you how to use each, if you’ve never done this before.

Venue
The venue is my studio in Busby (G76 8SE) and it has free parking outside. Busby train station is approx 10 minute walk away or the number 6 bus stops nearby.
The venue is on the first floor and there is no lift access. My sincere apologies if the accessibility is a barrier to you attending.
Timings
Class will start promptly at 2pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 5pm.
Cancellation policy
Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
