In this mixed media class we’re going to cover off using watercolours, pastels, collage and inks (maybe even some acrylic!) to create beautiful mixed media pictures. Full of texture and layers. Sometimes the trick of mixed media, is to not be able to tell it’s mixed media! Other times it’s to emphasise how cool something can look with multiple textures!
This won’t be abstract, but more how we can follow a photograph and create with the different materials.
This class is suitable for all abilities. You don’t need to have any experience of any painting before, but if you do, the class will be adapted suitably too.
We’ll start off with some sample sheets to learn the techniques, then choose whether you’d like to do a landscape, portrait, flower, animal etc.

Why this class?
A little more experimental than most drawing and painting classes, you’ll get to learn how to use lots of different materials to create a picture.
Enjoy an afternoon away from it all to learn some new skills, have a chat and zone out! I keep a very relaxed class.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own refreshments too (wine is allowed!)
Venue
The venue is Stamperland Community Hall and it has free parking outside. Clarkston train station is approx 15 minute walk away or the number 4 and 6 bus stops on the main road next to the Hall.
Unfortunately the hall is on the first floor with no lift access. My sincere apologies if this is a barrier to you attending. I am working on making sure I have a completely accessible venue for other classes.
Timings
Class will start promptly at 1pm, so please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for settling in. Class will end at 4pm.
Cancellation policy
Fingers crossed there won’t be any disruptions to class, but in the case the class needs to be cancelled, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class. If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer make it, I have a 72 hour cancellation policy. If cancelled more than 72 hours before, I’ll offer a full refund or transfer to another class, but unfortunately if within the 72 hours and I’m unable to fill the spot (I will try the waiting list!) then I can’t offer a refund.
